About the Presenter: Nelson Merchan is a business advisor with the Small Business Development Center based in Danbury at the Danbury Chamber of Commerce. Services are offered free of charged to entrepreneurs interested in growing their businesses. Nelson received, from the SBA, the 2013 Home-Based Business Champion for the State of Connecticut. A Home-Based Business Champion is an individual who has experienced the rewards and difficulties of owning a home-based business and has volunteered to improve the climate for these businesses. As a Danbury SCORE chapter chairman and counselor, Nelson contributed to the significant growth of the chapter during 2013. The SBA awarded this chapter with the “Eagle Award” for its Outstanding Contribution in the State of Connecticut. Nelson was born in Colombia and has an MBA from Georgia State University. He is working towards his Certificate in Digital Marketing at NYU.
