Event Details

Learn how to master the art of visual story telling in the online platform. Students will have the opportunity of using Photography, Creative writing, and video to express their passions, stories and creative objectives. This class is designed to perfect the creative art form not matter what that art form may be, allowing students to take their creative expression to the next level. Students without blogs will be given the opportunity to create one following our simple steps in week one. Join Lauren Eliz, blogger, life coach and Danbury Library's Maker-In-Residence for the month of September, as she teaches this engaging 4 week course! Week Three- The Elements of a Great Online Story: With students already having their creative writing assignment down, we will take things to the next level and add to that article with creative visuals and elements. Students will learn the effective components for visual storytelling in the online platform and what can add to the user experience in the online platform. Students will be given a series of examples to critique and review to learn about the common visual styles and effective visual elements for an online piece. At the end of this class we will share our creative work with the class (if students so choose to) and get new ideas from the group about how to add more creative elements to their stories in the online platform. Following our Week Three lecture, students will be required to go home and shoot photos, find images online, or even shoot some videos that they could add to their final works of art to showcase for the class.
