This book is written in a poetic style about very unusual and famous buildings around the world. Each person will do their own creative building project. November 21 - Touch the Sky, Alice Coachman, Olympic High Jumper. Hear about a young African American who dreamed about going to the Olympics in 1948, a time when no African American woman had ever won a gold medal. December 11 - Blackout by John Rocco - A Caldecott Honor Book. One hot summer night the electricity went out from New York City to Canada for 2 whole days.
