Speedcubing Club

Come join us to learn all about speedcubing!  Beginners and experienced cubers are all welcome. An instructor will be on hand to teach you to solve a 3x3 Rubik's Cube or learn to solve it faster.

It's a great way to make new friends or keep up with old ones while enjoying a fun activity that also builds life skills.

The club is for students in Middle School and High School, ages 10 and up. Adults are also welcome!

English Learners Book Club

Join us for a book club discussion for readers who speak English as a Second Language. Members of the group will meet once a week and will have the opportunity to read aloud, working on pronunciation and reading comprehension.  Members will be expected to read approximately 40 pages in advance of each session. This session runs from March 20 - May 22. 

We will be reading People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry.

Teen Chess Club

Makeup Gurus: Learn How to Apply Makeup!

Serenitee is a student at Danbury High School, and she has been doing makeup for as long as she can remember. She will teach younger students  tips and tricks on makeup application to help them feel confident in their personal techniques and unique makeup styles.

Students must bring their own makeup products for practice application to ensure safe hygienic use and accurate product shades.

The Housing Collective: Community Conversations

The Housing Collective has worked since 2006 to align communities and resources around collaborative regional responses to homelessness and housing affordability.

This is a share, listen, and learn session designed to build camaraderie and community among all who attend.

XPlane: Pilot Over Danbury

Attendees age 10 and above are welcome to join us to learn basic flight systems, followed by trying their hand at piloting a virtual aircraft!  You will have a seat in front of flight controls, choose a private, commercial, or military plane, and experience take-offs, landings, and patterns over the actual simulated terrain and scenery of Danbury!

This workshop makes use of the X-Plane simulator software that you can learn to use at home as well.  As time permits, all will have a chance to explore various scenarios and aircraft types.

English as a Second Language Class for Adults

Learn basic reading, writing, speaking & listening skills at the library for free!

This class meets in-person  and is led by a certified English instructor in collaboration with Western Connecticut Regional Adult and Continuing Education (WERACE) at no cost. 

All participants must be at least 17 years of age to take part in the program and each participant must provide a copy of their photo ID.

Talk Time: English Conversation Group
