Perhaps you think you want to be a professional writer one day, or maybe you just love writing and want to improve your craft. In this two-hour session author Allyson Valentine will guide attendees through hands-on lessons in dialogue and voice. Students are encouraged to bring samples of their own work to ask specific questions about how to take their writing to a new level.

Allyson Valentine, originally from Cos Cob, has an MFA in writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She has published nearly thirty nonfiction books for children and her debut novel, How (Not) to Find a Boyfriend, was released by Penguin this summer. Allyson currently lives outside Seattle, Washington with her husband and two teenaged sons.
