Important Messages
It's still not too late to sign up for summer reading! The program runs all summer to September 2nd. When you sign up, make sure to select the tab for your grade group (K-2, 3-5,6-8, or 9+).

The library participates with the Governor's Summer Reading Challenge; all books students read for the challenge may be listed here. We'll send your name and the number of books you have read to your school in the fall. If you need a paper copy, just print out your log at home- you can show your teacher in the fall how many books you have read!

Are you an art lover? Would you like to know more about the Italian artist Michelangelo and how he created his statues? Author Jane Sutcliffe will share her new book "Stone Giant," about Michelangelo's famous statue David, at the library on Thursday, July 17th, at 1:30 p.m. Kids will have a chance to create their own statue from clay. Love nature? Curious about critters like salamanders? A nature program on Salamanders with naturalist Jane Seymour will be at the library the evening of July 17th from 6 to 7 p.m. Attend and learn how many kinds of salamander live in Connecticut, where they live, what they eat and how to find them - as well as the difference between salamanders and lizards, and their relatives, frogs and toads.
