Join us for a book discussion led by WCSU history professor Stephen Flanagan. Book selection: Crossroads of Freedom: Antietam by James McPherson Celebrated Civil War historian James McPherson returns to the subject once again with an insightful treatment of the crucial battle of Antietam in September 1862. The consequences of the outcome of Antietam would cast long shadows on the direction of the war and on America's future. About The Presenter: Stephen Flanagan, a Danbury resident, is retired from a long career teaching high school history. His enthusiasm for exploring the past remains undiminished. For the past thirty years he has been an adjunct lecturer in the History Department at Western Connecticut State University.
