Girls in grade 3 – 6 are invited to join the American Girls Club at the Danbury Library for 3-part program about living in the 1700's and 1800’s in America. The series will start with a program on the colonial school house with Claudia Mathison. She will bring Artifacts, props and each girl will make a "copy book." Two book discussions, one about a girl living at the time of the war of 1812 and an a second about an American slave girl running to freedom will be read and discussed. Each person who agrees to participate in the book discussions will receive a free copy of the American Girl Books to read and discuss with others at the February and March meetings. In addition, girls will do a colonial based craft, and enjoy a colonial treat.
